Quality issues with slotted pipes

Our one European customer bought our slotted pipe making machine from 2018 to 2022 - 6 pcs, our machines work very well.

But recently he had problems with the slotted pipes when welding.

The customer said that he had already changed five wire suppliers due to the problem of welding quality.

Problems with the quality of wire for slotted pipes

Product defects: Dark color, no gloss, fragment during quenching.

Product impact: Fracture, uneven sieve gaps, color difference and reduced corrosion resistance.

Cause analysis: During annealing, gas protection was lost due to power outage, and the semi-finished product remained in the furnace for too long.

Solution method: Cutting and rejecting unqualified wire, and treating scrap. Precautions: The wire manufacturer has dual gas protection equipment and a diesel generator that switches over in case of failure.

Product defects:

①The tolerance of the sieve gap exceeds the standard. ② There are burrs on the surface. ③ Burrs and color deviation.

④The tolerance of the sieve gap exceeds the standard. ⑤ There are chips on the surface. ⑥ The lower corner is not filled.

Product impact: Uneven sieve gaps, color difference, the surface is not substandard.

Cause analysis: ①-④ The shrinkage diameter size of the semi-finished product head has decreased, resulting in unevenness in the wire diameter of the finished product.

The rolling process and annealing process are prone to shrinkage of the wire diameter.

⑤-⑥ The joints of semi-finished products cause partial cracks and partial underfeeding.

Solution method: Self-inspection is carried out in each process, the inspection is carried out 24 hours a day during the production process, and the infrared diameter measuring equipment automatically alarms and turns off.
